Skipper, Diver and Scientist

Born and grown up at the sea in Greece, I have been keen on all kinds of maritime activities.
The sea has been a permanent part of my life in the way of amusement, of education, of travel or of bread-winning. I have learn to work hard, methodically and efficient. I get on very well with people. I like adventure but I keep myself cool under pressure and can make tough and sound decisions on time.
I have been sailing for more than 20 years on dinghies, pleasure and commercial yachts.
2000 – 2001 I have been employed as skipper in the East Mediterranean ( Adriatic Sea, Greece ). In recent years I have been employed as a scientist in the Department of Physical Oceanography at the University of Hamburg, Germany. My research Interests included Ocean Modelling and Satellite Data Analysis (SST, SSH).
On summer 2004 I participated in an arctic expedition on the Norwegian Research Vessel LANCE.
2005 – 2006 certified European scientific diver, education at scientific diving center of Alfred Wegener Institute for Polar and Marine Research Helgoland, Germany.
2007 Yachtmaster Offshore (commercially endorsed), UKSA, UK.
I am looking for a position as a skipper/1st mate in a SY/MY with possible diving activities.
