I am a graduate student in maritime history at the University of Cambridge, studying trading networks and piracy in the Indian Ocean world. My colleague (another historian, of South Asia) and I are looking to work our passage (or otherwise travel cheaply) from anywhere in the Persian/Arab Gulf to anywhere in India or Southeast Asia. Any kind of vessel would suit us, and ports of departure and arrival, dates etc. are entirely flexible. We are both hard working, in our mid-20s, and can communicate a little in Arabic, Spanish, Hindi and Urdu.
