Work on yachts in Florida

Anonymous's picture

Thanks for your answer!

I'd be very thankfull for all informations about working on yachts. Actually me and my friend would like to work on one just to pay our living expenses in US. We weren't thinking about any trips around, but you never know ;) So is it easy to find work in Fort Lauderdale? Every day? Is there any web page or agency or anything else? .... how did others find it? Any other advice?

I probably already have enough info, but you never know ;) Thanks again!

Day work in Fort Lauderdale

The last time I was staying in Fort Lauderdale, I was woken up almost every morning by front desk staff asking me if I wanted a day work job at $10 - $15/hour. The time of year that you go is important. Call some of the crew houses down there and ask what the work situation is like before you go. A prime time to go to Fort Lauderdale is just a couple of weeks before the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show which takes place in the fall. There is also a Miami Boat Show, and others...

The summer is not the busiest time of year for yacht work down there, but there may be other kinds of work available. Many boats move to the Mediterranean in the summer.

Other travel work

You can often find a lot of work in Fort Lauderdale. It generally pays $10/hour and up. Contact the crew houses for more information. Floyd's is a good place to start.
